...of whispered desire
fell through... cracks
of creased and stained
........wood
laid with pencil sharpenings


......rough drafts
and rubber erasers
...softening past mistakes
from razor sharp points
....to faintly outlined
disguises and compromises

no touch
...no accidental caress
of rough and innocent...hands
....no lingering fingertips
no subtle grazes of collarbones
....or shoulder bones
or heart shaped bones
....set in stone
moving forward in slow motion
....mixing up time
yours and mine
...conflicting schedules
and no bus or train or plane
......or even membrane
that follows one path
....one predetermined street
no meet and greet between our feet
...only silent pauses
hanging onto thin
....sometimes suffocating
.........air

...........................imagination prevailed

....my thoughts
turn to you in moments of

surrender to your construction
...fill in the gaps
present and past blended
....melded and were welded
........together

...yet we were closer
in mind

in lust covered
.......conflict driven

...blue and cloud free
met coffee stained waters

wrapped up mostly in membranes
.....slowing time
easing newfound emotions
..dangerous territory

...unclaimed

....but whispered
to dark corners
